Botox

BOTOX Cosmetic, also known as Botulinum Type A, is derived from a bacterium, Clostridium Botulinum. It is produced under very closely controlled laboratory conditions and then administered by our medical professionals in exceedingly small therapeutic doses to treat unwanted facial lines and wrinkles. BOTOX is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures performed in the United States.

How does BOTOX Cosmetic work?

Normally your brain sends electrical messages to your muscles instructing them to contract and produce movement. BOTOX works by blocking these messages from being received by the muscle that has been injected. The muscle relaxes, and the overlying wrinkle is diminished or erased. This procedure provides predictable and reliable relief of symptoms.

Where is BOTOX Cosmetic administered?

BOTOX administration is one of many procedures that may be performed safely in the office by our medical professionals. A fine needle is used to inject the involved muscles. Some patients report very minor and temporary discomfort during treatment.

When will I see results and how long does BOTOX last?

Effects are usually seen within a few days and reach maximum benefit by fourteen days following injection. It is important to remember that BOTOX is not a permanent solution for troubling wrinkles because the effects are not permanent. For many patients, however, the effects have been quite dramatic. Although individual results vary, the results achieved from a single treatment usually last three to six months. You will notice a gradual fading of the effects. When you begin to notice the effects subsiding, you may choose to make another appointment with one of our medical professionals for further injections.

How often may I be treated?

To maintain the effects, treatments are usually required two to three times a year. BOTOX treatment may be repeated indefinitely. Currently BOTOX has been used safely for over twenty years worldwide. Acceptable safety in long-term treatment has been well established.

Xeomin

What is Xeomin?

Xeomin is an FDA-approved prescription medication used to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults. It contains botulinum toxin type A, a protein purified from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum.

How does Xeomin work?

Normally your brain sends electrical messages to your muscles instructing them to contract and produce movement. Xeomin Cosmetic works by blocking these messages from being received by the muscle that has been injected. The muscle relaxes, and the overlying wrinkle is diminished or erased. This procedure provides predictable and reliable relief of symptoms. Xeomin is sometimes referred to as the “naked Botox” because it doesn’t have any of the additives (protective proteins) found in Botox. This means that you may be less likely to become resistant to the product.

When will I see results and for how long will they last?

You may notice visible smoothing as early as 3-4 days after injection. It is important to remember that BOTOX Cosmetic is not a permanent solution for troubling wrinkles because the effects are not permanent. For many patients, however, the effects have been quite dramatic. Although individual results vary, the results achieved from a single treatment usually last three to six months. You will notice a gradual fading of the effects. When you begin to notice the effects subsiding, you may choose to make another appointment with one of our medical professionals for further injections .Injections can be repeated every three to four months to maintain your youthful appearance.

Juvederm®

Approved by the FDA in 2006, Juvéderm is a cosmetic dermal filler made of Hyaluronic Acid (HA), which is a naturally occurring sugar found in human tissue. Juvéderm injectable filler may be a good option for patients who wish to diminish deep folds or creases in the face, or who would like to augment their lips. While BOTOX® Cosmetic relaxes underlying muscles to achieve a wrinkle-free appearance, Juvéderm XC™ fills in volume loss allowing for immediate and smooth correction.

Voluma XC

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a naturally occurring, hydrating substance found in your skin. As you age, you start to lose HA, which causes the skin to lose structure and volume. Recently approved by the FDA, Voluma™ XC was specifically designed to treat hollow or sunken-in cheeks due to the normal aging process. VOLUMA™ XC can add volume to all three areas of the cheek: the apex, apple, and hollow. This HA dermal filler uses Vycross technology which provides more lift and can provide long-lasting results, typically allowing patients to maintain a youthful appearance for up to two years with optimal treatment. A subtle, natural-looking lift to the cheeks should be evident immediately following treatment.

Kybella

Double chins can be difficult to eliminate through diet and exercise alone. Kybella is the first and only FDA-approved injectable treatment that can reduce the appearance of submental fullness, also known as a double chin. This “fat-melting” medication offers an excellent non-surgical alternative to eliminate fat without the downtime and risk associated with surgery. Kybella’s active ingredient is deoxycholic acid, which is a naturally occurring molecule already present in the body. This medication is administered by small injections into the treatment area. Injection of this medication aids in the breakdown and absorption of fat. Kybella targets and destroys the fat cells. Once they are destroyed, these cells cannot store or accumulate fat again. The main benefits of Kybella are:
